The Alumni Association of JICA trainees in Lebanon, was awarded the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Commendation for FY 2020 during a handover ceremony at the Japanese Ambassador's residence on 29.04.2021. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements in the international field and contributions to promoting mutual ties and cultural bridges.
LEBA-JICA President, Dr Jaoudat Abou Jaoude and Eng. Kamal Mokdad thanked H.E. Mr. Takeshi Okubo, JICA staff and the Japanese people for their trust and support to the association's activities since 1998, adding that "if it hadn't been for their support and encouragement, we would not have gotten so far". He also added that LEBA-JICA was "has always enjoyed promoting mutual understanding between the Japanese and Lebanese people, not only for gaining professionalism in the scientific, cultural, social and technical know-how, but also for building up sincere friendship among our two nations.
