In its continuing efforts to promote interactive learning and digital innovation, the JICA Alumni Association in Lebanon – LEBA-JICA- offered a set of digital training equipment to the Amir Chakib Arslan Mixed Secondary Public School in Verdun and Ghazir Mixed Secondary Public School during a handover ceremony held at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. LEBA-JICA planned and implemented the project in coordination with the Ministry and with funding from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The event was attended by a representative from JICA Ms. Zeina Khalaf, representatives from LEBA-JICA Mr. Jawdat Abou Jaoude - President and Mr. Kamal Mokdad, Ms. Hanan Abi Ghanem, the Director General of Education Mr. Fadi Yarak, the Director of Secondary Education Ms. Jamal Baghdadi, the Director of DOPS Ms. Hilda Khoury, and the two high-school principals.
The project aims to improve the scientific learning experience of public secondary school students in order to prepare them for the challenges of the digital revolution. It also builds on the ties between Japan and Lebanon, and JICA’s collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to enhance education quality and to reach the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
